Hymn

I used to write poems, but have not in quite a while, but I have recently considered writing a hymn. This morning after reading Charles Spurgeon's Morning and Evening devotional, the Holy Spirit helped me do just that.

Do not doubt that the LORD is good.
Trust Him for your daily food.
Though you forget what He can do,
He remains forever true.

His banquet table never ends
And your every hunger fends.
Christ is the fountain for your soul;
all your thirst doth He annul.

Though we, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us turned his own way,
the LORD on Him our sin didst lay[a],
that we might feed on Him this day.

Rejoice in God, your Lord and Savior.
Look to Him for love and favor.
Cry with all the Heavenly host,
and only in Jesus boast.

To God, alone, be the glory.
May we ever tell His story,
praising Father, Spirit, and Son
holy, awesome Three in One.

[a] Isaiah 53:6
